lifts - introduction
description
In this section of the website we present the various types of lifts offered by the Rerman group, subdividing the categories based on the final use of the system.
Every page has images of our production and some technical sheets as an example. For details regarding the appearance of the cab lifts, you can directly access the cabs and finishes page and the photogallery.

In the following pages we mainly seek to clarify which laws various types of lifts are subject to and therefore which building criteria is viable for each category.

The aim of the legislator was, in fact, to establish regulation to make the installation of lifts obligatory and to establish minimum sizes regarding cabs and doors.

At a national level, lifts are regulated by Italian law 13 of
1989
, of the Ministry of Public Works Decree 236 of 1989 and the subsequent Italian Presidential Decree 503 of 1996 (regarding only public buildings): this regulation established the minimum dimensions of lifts based on the type of building where they will be installed.
An exception is the Region of Lombardy which, issued its own regulation (Regional Law 6 of 1989), established more strict size parameters and particularly lift door size for lifts installed in that region.

In 2004 the European Union introduced the regulation EN 81-70, which adopted various indications regarding the removal of architectural barriers. Thus a rather confusing situation has emerged because Law 13 has not been repealed in the meantime.
There are those who maintain that Law 13 must be applied and that it is sufficient.
There are those instead who think that the installation of a lift which conforms to harmonized regulation (meaning it was accepted by all member states) EN 81-70 is the right solution.

With the goal of always working with the utmost professionalism and the highest customer loyalty, Rerman always offers system installations made in full compliance with both laws, in order to avoid any possible type of claim.

In the following table we summarize the regulation which governs the sector; in the pages regarding the various types of lifts you will find the tables listing detailed information.
