The term "public lift" means the type of lift designed and made for public use buildings, like schools, hospitals, and the community in general.
The characteristics of these lifts are regulated by the following laws: Italian Presidential Decree 503/86, containing rules for the elimination of architectural barriers in buildings, spaces and public services, based on European Directive EN 81.70, inherent to accessibility of people, including disabled ones, and lastly on the Lombardy Region Law n. 6/89.
Minimum values of the aforementioned regulation are listed in the below table.
